About The Event

On Tuesday evenings at 7pm for 8 sessions, the Bible Study on the Gospel of John is held starting on 1/30th.  We will use the Ascension Press Follow Me: Meeting Jesus in the Gospel of John study guide and video.  Please purchase the study guide online at this link.

We will also read from The Gospel of John - Catholic Commentary on Sacred Scripture by Francis Martin and William M Wright IV; this commentary is a favorite reference by priests (Fr Michael, Fr Frank, Fr James). While this book is additional reading and is not mandatory, here is the link in case you would like to purchase it.

We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday 1/30th.

Further details are

  • Following Christ takes more than simply believing in him or doing what he asks of us. Jesus wants you to be more than just a believer—he wants you to be his disciple and friend. Follow Me: Meeting Jesus in the Gospel of John is your guide to a personal encounter with Christ. As the Good Shepherd, Jesus seeks us. He comes to meet us and beckons us to follow him. He calls us to be his disciples, to trust him, to open ourselves to his merciful love, and to love others as he has loved us. Follow Me invites you to experience the joy of a renewed friendship with Christ. In this study you will learn what it takes to follow Christ and discover the joy of divine friendship. You will see how God, and only God, can satisfy the deepest desires of your heart. https://youtu.be/2JTsUlzwiDM
  • The Gospel of John - the Catholic Commentary on Sacred Scripture by two well-respected New Testament scholars interpret the Gospel of John in its historical and literary setting as well as in light of the Church's doctrinal, liturgical, and spiritual tradition. They unpack the wisdom of the Fourth Gospel for the intellectual and spiritual transformation of its readers and connect the Gospel with a range of witnesses throughout the whole history of Catholicism. This volume, like each in the series, is supplemented by features designed to help readers understand the Bible more deeply and use it more effectively in teaching, preaching, evangelization, and other forms of ministry.
